I have been working with at-risk youth since 2004. While earning my BA in Psychology at UCCS, I worked in a residential treatment facility, learning the ropes of being a front line staff. While earning my MA in Clinical Psychology, also at UCCS, I worked with middle school youth at a local school. Following graduation, I returned to residential as a therapist working almost exclusively with sexually abusive youth. I have presented research on this topic and many others across the country and in Canada, and have earned my Full Operating Treatment Provider from the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB). In 2014, I began working at Peak View Behavioral Health and served as an Admissions Specialist and then as the Director of Assessment and Referral until 2021.
I have a passion for working with adolescents and believe addressing the problems of today can dissipate the problems of tomorrow. It is my hope that with the collaborative efforts of myself, the client, and his/her family, the wounds will begin to heal and tomorrow will begin to look brighter.
Beginning the therapeutic process can be difficult and scary! Most recently, I have worked in an inpatient psychiatric setting where I have seen what can happen when people do not feel safe or comfortable enough to reach out for help. If you are reading this, then you have already taken the first step! Congratulations!
I look forward to working with you and your family!
